The wedding can wait

Ivan and Mindy flew in from the United States with a wedding waiting at home. First, Korea. We met them on Jeju in the last week of March, when the canola was at its peak, and crossed the island with them like a road trip.
The film opens at the edge of the runway, a plane roaring over their first kiss of the day. Then hanbok: a folk studio hung with painted screens and tangerines, a drum between them, and the two of them laughing through it. The studio came dressed for spring.
From the fields we followed the coast: the rainbow blocks by the road, a quiet beach, wind turbines over the lava rocks. The day ran past sunset, to a convenience store lit up in the dark and one last sparkler by the sea. The photographs and the film come from the same day.
Shot on the day by our photographer, working right beside the film camera. Real photographs, not frames pulled from the video. Two crafts, one shoot, one team, and you keep both.
The Scene is our shortest film, cut as a montage to music. This one travelled: a destination shoot on Jeju, planned with us before they flew in, with the island’s spring as the set. The photographs were made the same day, side by side with the film, and both are delivered together.
