Sanghee makes travel films for a living. Taehoon is the steady one beside her. For their pre-wedding film they took a real trip: out of Seoul past a highway rest stop, with one night at a glamping site. We went along and filmed what happened.
They met in 2012, at twenty one, on the same cross-country march. She turned up a day late and was assigned as his partner. Both quietly decided the other was not their type. Six years later a group project put them in the same room again, and this time Taehoon asked her out for an ice cream. The film opens with the archive: the marching photos and the matching vests.
There were hard years in the middle. What pulled her through were the small trips she took on her days off, and the man who never rushed her. The trips became videos, the videos became her work. The film follows that kind of day: Olympic Park at eight in the morning, lunch at a rest stop, a fire at night.
The proposal was hers. She pressed play on a Black Skirts song, brought out a watch, and asked. He was moved. He was also a little too interested in the watch. That song is in the film, right where it belongs, playing off his phone in the car.
The Film starts long before the shoot. For Sanghee and Taehoon it started at a café table in Gangnam.
A long sit-down in Gangnam, twelve days before the shoot. The recording runs an hour and eight minutes.
Their story went down as a seven-chapter treatment before we planned a single shot.
The treatment became questions, and we asked them on camera along the way. Their answers run through the film.
Every scene was boarded before the day: locations scouted, references pulled, actions written out.

Their treatment was written in Korean: seven chapters, from the girl who turned up a day late to the proposal she made first.

A day and a night on the road, built from one long conversation about how these two actually travel. The plan stayed simple: pack the car and leave Seoul. We handled the route and the timing; they just took the trip.
